Campanda

General Information

Which type of vehicles can be rented out on Campanda?

We welcome all commonly used RVs as long as renters can travel in them. This includes class A, B, and C motorhomes, as well as mini-motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheel trailers, popup trailers, offroad trailers, and truck campers. If it was built for camping, you can rent it out on Campanda.

Can I still use my motorhome myself?

Of course! You have complete control over when and how often you want to make your vehicle available for rent. If there are dates you’d like to have it for yourself, you can simply block these off in the availability calendar so that renters cannot make requests for those periods.

Do I need experience managing websites?

No experience is required. We will provide you with a simple management tool to rent out your vehicle. All you need is a basic understanding of computers and access to the internet through a PC, tablet, or cell phone.

How can I cancel my account?

If you wish to cancel your account and stop renting out your vehicle on Campanda, you can request this at any time. However, please note that you should honor any bookings that you have already confirmed.
If you wish to take your vehicle offline for a certain period of time instead of canceling your account, you can change the status of your vehicle from active to deactive.

Costs and Payment Processing

How much does it cost to rent my vehicle out on Campanda?

It’s free to set up an account with Campanda. You only need to pay a fee when you earn something. Once your vehicle has been successfully rented out on the platform, Campanda will receive a commission.

When do I receive the rental money?

The transfer to your bank account will be initiated 48 hours after the vehicle has been picked up. Please note that depending on your bank it may take a few days longer for the payment to appear in your account.

Questions About the Rental Process

Can I rent out my vehicle immediately after registering?

Once you have registered an account you need to fill in the information about your vehicle. Follow the instructions on the Dashboard to fill in all the required information then, when you’re ready, press the “Publish Listing” button. We will review your account within 48 hours and inform you once it’s ready to go live or if any information is still missing.
Make sure you have filled in the edit vehicle page, set a nightly price, and chosen an insurance option before you press the “Publish Listing” button.

Can I set a minimum duration for the rental?

Yes, you can set a minimum duration. You can also adjust this on a seasonal basis and for any specific time period throughout the year, to ensure the availability of your vehicle matches the demand. For example, you can choose to set a minimum rental period of 7 days during the busy summer months then set it to 3 days for the rest of the year.

Do I have to provide camping equipment?

Renters will always appreciate having a fully equipped vehicle so we recommend that you offer camping accessories and equipment. However, it's up to you whether you want to provide extras or not. The following extras are particularly popular: bed linen, kitchen utensils, camping furniture, dishes & cutlery, gas tanks, and awnings. You can provide a complete, all-in-one package of accessories, or you can offer individual items on demand for an additional fee.

Do I have to accept every request?

No, you decide when your vehicle is rented, and who rents it. When a renter make a request, you can send them a message with any questions you have. This ensures you are happy with the renters before you agree to the rental. If you don’t feel comfortable, you can simply decline the request. You have complete control.

How does the rental process work?

Once a booking has been confirmed, contact the renter to finalize the details (agree on a time and place for pickup and return, for example). We provide you with a Vehicle Handover Form which you should fill in along with the renter at pickup and drop off.

Is there a mileage limit for renters?

By default 100 miles per day is included in your rental rates. You can then choose to set a price per mile for any additional mileage above 100 miles per day. You can also set a different price for unlimited mileage. If you don’t want to charge extra for mileage, you can also choose to charge the normal rental rate which includes unlimited mileage at no extra cost.

Am I responsible for cleaning the vehicle?

You should always make sure your vehicle is clean and prepared before the renter arrives to pick it up. For final cleaning after the rental has taken place, you decide what works best for you. Some professional rental companies insist the renters clean the vehicle thoroughly. Others take responsibility for the cleaning themselves. If you prefer to clean the vehicle yourself, you can choose to charge the customer a final cleaning service fee.

Questions About Insurance

Which type of insurance do I need?

In order to rent out your vehicle, you must have an RV rental insurance policy that covers any damage that may be caused by the renter.

If you arrange your own insurance policy, we recommend having fully comprehensive insurance. In the event of an accident, the renter would be responsible for paying the deductible, which you can set individually.

Our partner Allianz offers an RV rental insurance policy for Campanda renters. This is a fully comprehensive plan that includes coverage for breakdowns. The renter is responsible for paying for this insurance, but you must have your own third party liability policy in place.

Does the insurance offered through Campanda affect my personal insurance policy?

No. Any accidents that take place during the rental period, including injuries to third parties, would be covered by the RV rental insurance via our partner Allianz. Your personal insurance would not be affected.

What happens if the vehicle breaks down?

For rentals in the USA, our partner company Coach-Net offers a 24-hour RV breakdown service. So, peace of mind is ensured for both you and the renters in the case of a vehicle breakdown.
